The Oxford Sri Chinmoy Centre was established May 1981.

The Sri Chinmoy Centre provides a focal point for students of Sri Chinmoy who live in Oxford. The centre meditates as a group twice a week and also offer a range of other related activities, such as meditation classes, races, concerts and art exhibitions.

Free Meditation Classes

The Sri Chinmoy Centre in Oxford usually offers free meditation classes during each university term. These meditation classes are open to anyone interested in learning about the basics of meditation.

Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile - Cutteslowe Park

In May 1986, Sri Chinmoy, with the Mayor of Oxford, Bill Fagg, inaugurated a new ‘Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile‘ at Cutteslowe Park, Oxford.

The Peace mile is designed to offer runners and walkers a focused loop dedicated to peace.

World Harmony Run in Oxford

The World Harmony Run visiting the Oxford Mindfulness clinic at Warneford hospital. The World Harmony Run is an initiative founded by Sri Chinmoy in 1987 dedicated to promoting the ideals of peace and harmony.

Concerts

Members of the Oxford Sri Chinmoy Centre and musicians from across the UK have offered concerts of soulful music in a variety of locations, such as The Jacqueline du Pre Music Building, St Hilda's and Holywell Music Room.

Sri Chinmoy in Oxford

Sri Chinmoy visited Oxford on nine occassions. He gave lectures at the Oxford Union and Keble College. He offered two peace concerts (at the Sheldonian and Christ Church Cathedral.  On his last visit  in 2003, Sri Chinmoy honoured several university professors as part of his 'Lifting up the world with a oneness heart' programme.
