Learn to meditate with the Sri Chinmoy Centre
We offer free meditation classes and concerts in cities across the UK.
As well as classes and concerts, we also organise sporting and peace initiatives to bring people together.
Sri Chinmoy is a spiritual Teacher, who serves as a guide to students around the world. Born in Indian in 1931, he moved to New York, the US in the 1960s, where lived until his passing in 2007. Over the next few decades, he established meditation centres in many countries around the world - where his students live a devoted spiritual life based on his teachings and guidance. Sri Chinmoy also initiated many projects, such as the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run and the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team which is a pioneer of distance running.
The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is a global relay founded in 1987 by Sri Chinmoy. The aim of the run is to foster understanding, harmony and work towards a more peaceful world.
The UK Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team organise a variety of sporting events from 2-mile races to a beginner's triathlon and 24-hour race in London.
In the UK we have music groups who perform the music of Sri Chinmoy at venues across the country. Sri Chinmoy's songs are a direct expression from the heart and have a meditative quality to them.

An important aspect of Sri Chinmoy's philosophy is the concept of self-transcendence; the aspiration to improve and go beyond our past capacities. Students of Sri Chinmoy have competed in sports which include multi-day distance running, cycling and swimming.
This video is an introduction to one such event organised by Sri Chinmoy's students - the Self-Transcendence Triathlon put on by the Sri Chinmoy Centre in Portishead.
Around the world
Sri Chinmoy has students in over 50 countries - all striving to live lives of inner peace, while still being fully part of the world.
