What we have done in 2002

Globally OHTS has been offering humaniatrian service from 1990, but in the UK we did not start in earnest until 2002.

November 2002

Following the signing of a peace accord in Angola in 2002, the Sri Chinmoy centres worldwide were inspired to help in any way that we could. This lead to the formation of OHTS in the UK, made up of school teachers, doctors, nurses and other indiviuals ready to help with whatever skills they had. In November 2002 we sent our first sea container to Save the Children in Luanda. It contained food, pharmaceuticals, toys, stationery for schools, shoes and clothing. Many primary schools in the UK were involved and helped to donate many of the items we sent. Links: More pictures of this project in Angola
