Meditation is the root of our spiritual practice. Meditation unlocks the unlimited potential within us - and helps us to discover and feel our life's deeper purpose and direction.

Meditation is a technique that has to be practiced and experienced. It is best learnt through personal instruction rather than from reading a book (although books can give you tremendous inspiration).

If you are interested in learning to meditate we recommend that you either contact a Sri Chinmoy Centre near you or contact us using our online form. Sri Chinmoy Centres give free classes on meditation and free concerts of spiritual music in cities all over the world. If, for any reason, you cannot attend any of our meditation classes then you learn meditation from our home study course that is on the Sri Chinmoy Centre main site. There are also many excellent meditation exercises there.

To complement the course we recommend that you purchase a book to inspire you and give further instruction. We suggest either The Wings of Joy or Meditation by Sri Chinmoy. The Wings of Joy is an inspirational book that helps you cope with life's difficulties and inspires you to discover and increase your good qualities. The Meditation book is a practical guide to meditation with many exercises and techniques, clear explanations of basic principles and questions and answers on meditation.

Also recommended for meditation is Sri Chinmoy's flute music.
